NJBankers is excited to announce that we will be continuing our philanthropic partnership with Eva’s Village this year. Eva’s is a comprehensive, social service nonprofit organization. Their mission is to combat poverty by delivering services that provide both immediate relief and long-term solutions to individuals struggling with homelessness, mental and physical health issues, and the scourge of addiction.
Each year, Eva’s helps more than 5,000 men, women, and parents with children, and provides a huge volume of services. NJBankers cannot accomplish this mission without the help of our members.
Together we led a highly successful first year with Eva’s Village with donating a total of $30,000 which provided 51,600 meals to homeless and indigent individuals. Your generosity has been noted and you’ve made a huge difference in people’s lives.
NJBankers primary mission with Eva’s Community Kitchen is to provide 25 days of service from May-December which entails preparing and serving meals to the community. NJBankers will provide a list of days for members to select from for your volunteer day. Each participating volunteer group will be asked to contribute $1,000 for each day they select. The number of volunteers needed per day may vary based on need.
NJBankers will be working with select committees expanding on the assistance provided to Eva’s Community Kitchen, this will be accomplished through their additional programs, such as:
- Support their Workforce Development Program by hosting Mock Job Fairs
- Support Eva’s parents with children by hosting or underwriting a special outing or class
- Bring holiday cheer by organizing a collection drive, helping to sort and wrap toys and gifts, and volunteering at their Holiday Shoppe
- Offer a new career opportunity by underwriting a scholarship for a student at Eva’s Culinary School
We encourage your participation. Volunteer spots fill up fast. Please contact Erin Suckiel at esuckiel@njbankers.com or 908-272-8500 ext. 629 to participate.
This is a great opportunity to once again demonstrate how New Jersey’s banks support their communities.
